Disability management has been defined by the Certification of Disability Management Specialists Commission (CDMSC) as the practice of providing preventive and remedial services to minimize the impact and the cost of disability and to enhance the client's productivity. The goal of disability management is to provide appropriate services and resources in order to promote maximum recovery or improved functional capacity on the part of an ill or injured individual.
